Shared Sacrifice
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 12:13 PM by Bandit
This should be a prominent talking point anytime a Democrat or Union official is being interviewed. Every time we have any presence on TV or Radio this should be brought up. What have the wealthy shared? Republicans are asking for concessions from all Americans except the wealthy and Big Corporations. In fact not only are they not asking for anything from the wealthy, they are actually giving them more...This is one EVERY American worker can grasp, whether they are Republican or not. American workers are being asked to sacrifice but not the wealthy...........This meme will bite..

1. Republicans only want the rest of
us to "sacrifice." They are only concerned with those who help them. They want the women in this country to get barefoot, pregnant and stand over the kitchen stove preparing them dinner so they can eat and run out to do more harm to the country.

2. You would have like the townhall meeting held last week with brand new TP Rep. Womack.
A woman asked why this budget/deficit reducing Republican didn't seek to reduce the salary and benefits of those in Congress. Here is his reply....

“My income is $174,000 a year,” Womack said. “I do make a sizable amount, more than many people in this room, but I am not a wealthy person.”

Much of a congressman’s income must go toward traveling back and forth between one’s district and maintaining two households, he said.

“I’m not one of the guys who wants to live on my couch — I don’t think it’s healthy,” Womack told the audience.

Of course, he didn't mention that the median household income in Arkansas is $38,820.
