Qik was just bought by Skype... So, the feed is dependent upon what their servers can handle.

I didn't know qik started in 2006 and got going in 2008. They're privateley held by VC's tho, but skype could be a good play.

The largest portion of Qik's user base are sex voyeurs and perv's who use it for cybersex. While it has the potential to be a useful app, it's already gaining a less wholesome reputation that will be a bit hard to overcome.

We tried to use Qik here at the college a couple of years ago to do some low budget lecture broadcasting for distance ed students. We had to cancel the project after a single semester because of quality problems and the number of people who were blocked from the site by various firewalls that flagged it as 'Adult Material'.

Qik is no Twitter.
