Gingrich: Breaking your word is worse than shutting down the government...
The lesson for today's House Republicans is simple: Work to keep the government open, unless it requires breaking your word to the American people and giving up your principles. Becoming one more promise-breaking, Washington-dominated, sellout group is a much worse fate - politically and ethically - than having the government close for a few days.

He also rewrites a lot of history in this article which is typical.

5. Why it is best to not make any oaths.
Edited on Fri Feb-25-11 03:03 PM by RandomThoughts
That is the best thing I think, I got into the Chocolate factory by just walking right through, not by making any deals.

And my Word, or what I think of as Word, does not break.

Interesting, do Masons know that the oath with the comment about a knife in the gut, actually comes from the idea of thorn in the side, and is an attachment to a cast of spiritual attack on someone if they break some oath in that group?

Guess what, no person ever told me that in any organization, or under any oath.

And most Masons don't know that anyways. But many groups use cast like that to harass people.

7. Good observation about the rewrite of history going on. Gingrich cloaks that
in his "professor" persona. Conflates historical analysis with historical fact, to be kind. Lies, to be blunt. :hi:

14. Is this the same Gingrich who was having an affair
while his wife had cancer? Are marriage vows considered 'words that should not be broken?
