1. I think they almost do more
Edited on Thu Feb-10-11 08:01 AM by Zephie
As the teabaggers and the republicans will often fall in line with eachother on many beliefs, if only because the tea partiers aren't informed enough to make decisions for themselves and the info is spoon fed to them by the likes of Beck and Limbaugh. The blue dogs however aren't dumb, just taken in by the conservative desire to put themselves and their needs before those of their voters. I think if many blue dogs voted with their conscious there wouldn't be any blue dogs left, just conservatives and actual liberals.

2. because of their deceit, they do more. The tea party is obvious
which makes them less damaging, ultimately. And by 'obvious' I mean their intent.

3. More.
Blue Dogs affect the two party system and choices more. In fact, the Democratic Party is doing some self destruction that isn't reported.

4. at least
They do at least as much damage.
The Blue Dogs do not have political and moral courage to address real world problems.
The 111th Congress did not do a good job, and the Blue Dogs are the principle reason.

6. It's all about seat count, geniuses.
...and the loss of those 'treacherous' Blue Dogs resulted in "Speaker John Boehner".

So instead of making modest, sometimes inadequate progress on social issues, we get wholesale attempts to completely dismantle every safety net.

8. I disagree. As far as the welfare of the people goes, it should be
about policy. The difference between a slow death and fast one is measured only in time, not misery.

9. Time will tell
Moderate Dems are the majority of the Party.
"Tea Party" are the minority of their Party.

Comparing liberals/progressives to the "Tea Party" would be more accurate. One only has to look at HCR and the 2nd Amendment to see how liberals/progressives can damage the Party, while we still have to wait and see how all the Tea Party 'budget' proposals damage their Party.
