Charles Krauthammer - Climate science is a ‘religion,’
A Washington Post columnist recently attacked a Nobel Prize winner by claiming that the scientific consensus that backs climate change is essentially a religious institution.

"Look, if Godzilla appeared on the Mall this afternoon, Al Gore would say it’s global warming," Charles Krauthammer said on PBS’s Inside Washington Saturday.

He continued, "Look, everything is - it’s a religion."

3. What does the dictionary say? facts versus beliefs = science vs religion
Religion: set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Science: a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws: the mathematical sciences.

7. these people really don't value religion very much
every damn thing that comes along that they disagree with is a religion now. Climate science, atheism, two off the top of my head.

11. Krauthammer is whatever he needs to be to convey the message of his masters.
He's not exactly a great thinker either... too easy to knock down when starts spewing BS, and completely unable to recover when confronted. That is also why he's always on a panel with "like-minded" individuals. You just know he, Monica Crowley and Pat spend the week emailing talking points back and forth: Strength in numbers to shout down anyone with actual "facts" (filthy, filthy FACTS!).

Luckily for Charles, he hasn't yet met an infotainment, talking-head host who isn't willing to change the subject the second he's questioned on one of his RW talking points and is left spluttering. Often it leads to some very humorous segues, and you can see Charles shifting gears to the new subject.

10. all these guys are the same guys or types of guys who deny a link between cigarettes
and cancer. It took a while to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that cigarettes can cause lung cancer...and during that time the business world denied what was otherwise obvious.
