2. That was not the President's position
Misrepresenting his motives just because you can't deal with the realities of legislation does not make us look good, nor does the passive plaint of "where are the jobs?"

7. The intent of the bill is varied
It is the usual patch up. Don't go out of your way to be "betrayed." It only makes you personally miserable.

http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds=usunemployment&met=unemployment_rate&tdim=true&dl=en&hl=en&q=unemployment+graph

which means about 1.5 million more people were back at work in December 2010 (seasonally adjusted) than December 2009.

9. not in Georgia -- went from 9.8 to 10.1
And that conclusion drawn about people being back to work could also be people falling off the rolls who have given up looking.

16. More likely
the other 2 million folks that were predicted to join the other 2 million 99'ers did just that. You know, the ones that aren't counted and therefore don't exist?
Oh yeah, the ones that didn't get THEIR pony either.

6. DU and the GOP share similar levels of rational discourse
the bill passed at 12 last night. And it largely is not meant to create jobs - it pretty much keeps things as is...

8. Awww for the cripes sakes
He hasn't even signed the bill yet. I'm sure the world looks much different from his desk in the Oval Office and with the information on the current situation that he has at hand.

I'd bet that if President Obama thought for a second that he could cure all the worlds ills by making a smart aleck post on an anonymous discussion board he would.

I certainly don't blindly support any person or party but I'm also not in the Limbaugh "hope he fails" camp either.

It is what it is, what's done is done, and you better damn well hope it works.

12. Jobs? Oh they are overseas or in Mexico.
Oh you meant the USA!?

We don't create jobs here anymore, just unemployment and inflation.

14. Why LIE?
Obama has never said that the Bush tax cuts create jobs. Never.

There are OTHER provisions in the bill which are stimulative. The Bush tax cuts, particularly those of the rich, do not.

And Obama has been clear about that.

So again, why lie?
