Coincidence?

For several years, I have been posting at DU about Romney's state taxes in 2002, when he ran for Governor of my state.

About a month ago, Rachael Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell each did shows on the same evening about Romney's lies. But, neither of them mentioned the 2002 stuff that had bugged me so much. This surprised me as to Maddow, because she was a Massachusetts resident. Then again, her work takes her out of state a lot.

So "someone, not saying who," emailed Rachel Maddow the information No Elephants has for years been posting here about Romney's state in 2002. "Someone" chose Maddow because "someone" thinks O'Donnell always sounds like a droning scold. And Rachael can explain things to people like nobody's business.

Maybe it is a coincidVence. Maybe not. But Rachel Maddow just did a story about.......

Romney's lies about his 2002 state tax returns, the exact same subject that "somebody, I am not saying who" emailed her about in July.

Of course, she and her staff did a much better job than I ever could have, digging up old videos and old newspaper stories. I was only going from my memory.

seem like a coincidence?

Also, she took it from the point of what he had done with his Massachusetts state taxes, which, as my July post said, I did not know. She did not say much about his Utah state taxes. (Turns out, he paid both states at the lower resident rate and tried to get away with providing zero tax returns to run for Governor.)


So, I don't know.

My California political buddy thinks she would have at least mentioned it in her July show on Romney's lies, if she had been aware of it then, even if she said she was planning to do a show highlighting that one lie in the future.

Anyway, whatever. It's just very fun to imagine that I did have something to do with it. So, I'll take it. *takes a bow and blows kisses to a cheering audience, consisting of DD*

She did a fabulous job with it, too.
