Some people have suggested here that because Loughner was "behaving organized" he could not have been mentally ill. That is quite untrue. While, it is common for paranoid schizophrenics to be unable to cope with everyday life, and appear "disorganized" with regards to the tasks it demands, they are quite organized when it comes to all the things connected to their delusion. In other words, it is not that they are not organized, they are very organized, but set up with regards to an alternate non-existant reality. They can be capable of complex tasks, when it serves the delusion, but not necessarily otherwise.

Look at some of those quote. Yes, that looks a lot like textbook paranoid schizophrenia.

which is part of the tragedy of the disease...it usually manifests iteslf in the late teens or early 20's when people are students or beginning careers. It is not the same in everyone...people with the disease are still individuals, and it is hard to make accurate blanket statements about all people who suffer from it.
