1. Aw they really "leave paw-prints on your heart"
Edited on Tue Dec-27-11 08:29 PM by Raine
as my vet said to me. I lost my little guy Dandy a year ago Dec. 7 he was the last in a long line of beloved dogs that have crossed over. I ended up with two cats (I inherited from a friend who died) instead of a dog. I miss having a dog so much though. Sometimes I think of little Dandy and tears come to my eyes, they really are members of the family. I know just how you feel.

edit: corected one word

2. What a cute puppy,
I am sitting here with my 10 year old dog.

Not looking forward to the day that she will not be here.

Our pets weave themselves into our hearts.

Bless your little dog.

3. Being a couple of months short myself of the 4 year anniversary of my best ever passing -
Edited on Tue Dec-27-11 09:14 PM by DeschutesRiver
and still missing my Chel as much as ever, I am not certain that the missing every day part will ever go away.

I am possibly days away from losing the older rescue girl I adopted shortly after Chel passed away to stupid cancer, and so soon I will have 2 little souls whose presence I will still feel every damned day I am left without them around. My rescue girl became my next best ever dog - I'd never imagined I could have 2 best ever dogs like this, and can't bear to think of the days to come without her. I do not like this part of knowing dogs. It hurts.

Your Buddha looks like he was a ton of fun, peaceful and he had "I'm your buddy" eyes - there is much to miss when a companion like that passes out of our lives, and you have my deepest sympathies. I am very glad for you that you got to have the friendship of a dog that you would miss like this, forever. Not many people know that kind of cool love, and I wouldn't trade a day of either of my girls's lives just to avoid the ending pain, probably the same for you as well.

~In memory of your Buddha - may his spirit be at peace still wherever he is now~

5. He was the smartest of all of my dogs ever
Edited on Tue Dec-27-11 10:23 PM by DainBramaged
The largest vocabulary too. He found ways to entertain himself which always amazed me, from shredding a single paper towel into nearly microscopic pieces to bouncing tennis balls down the steps and chasing them only to do it again and again, to 'juggling' them around the kitchen table leg while we ate.

He was 13 years six months old when he made his last visit to the vet. And I relive that last morning with him often.

Love them with all of your heart, because they will give you all of theirs.

Be well

DB

4. Aw, sweet doggie.
Grieving for a pet is as difficult as grieving for a person. :(

6. Beautiful Doggie...and gorgeous eyes.
It's terrible to lose our friends. They are not PETS...but friends and companions.

Sorry that it's an anniversary of such a sad time. I'm a "kitteh" person, these days. But, I did have two dogs growing up that were my buddies.

I lost two of my kitteh's and they were Siamese (more like dogs) and it is like losing a favorite family member. The memories never leave...and they were all good memories.

It's good to have those memories of love and sharing. for you and Buddha times.

10. This fucking sucks. I had another puppy die at the vet a short whle ago
God damn it to hell. We had 2 puppies. One was the dark one that we were thinking of giving away, we loved her and she died 2 days ago. Well today we brought the other puppy who we were planning on keeping and who we loved with all our hearts to the vet. The vet made us put him to sleep. He had parvo and the vet said that he wouldn't make it. So the vet put him to sleep. I have been nothing but a bubblering crying baby ever since we got to the vet and got the news.

They gave us the puppy all swaddled in some blanket thing that is sealed and recommended that we bury the puppy at least 3 feet. I just don't have the heart to bury him just yet. I laid him in his puppy bed still covered in the sealed blanket thing. I just keep expecting him to come over to me and gingerly climb up my leg like he loved to do and then nibble on my ear and fall asleep on my shoulder.

God dammit to hell this fucking sucks.
