Piers Morgan to testify at phone-hacking probe

Piers Morgan, the former British newspaper editor who now hosts a CNN show, is due to testify Tuesday at a government-backed probe into British press ethics and behavior, according to the inquiry schedule.

Morgan will be the latest in a long line of high-profile figures giving evidence before the Leveson Inquiry, which was sparked by the revelation that News of the World tabloid hacked into the voice mail of a murdered 13-year-old girl in search of stories.

Morgan, the presenter of CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," is a former editor of the tabloid, but left before the Milly Dowler hacking.

Morgan has vigorously denied ordering phone hacking at any point during his career, which continued with the editorship of the Daily Mirror before he left the British newspaper industry.

sure do wonder about ole Piers. When the story first broke about the hacking, he was rather evasive when Wolfy and others asked him to comment on it.

That probe should be very interesting.

He's like the British version of Billo The Clown with his superior attitude toward the guests on his show. And he's been so evasive about the phone hacking scandal in the past, I'd bet money he's connected to it.
