I'm reading a great number of posts by our community members
about the DU3 format, hosts, juries etc... concerns et al.

I think we need to look at the long term implications of the changes.
I, for one, am certain that the "TRANSPARENCY" page will reveal a great deal.

Looking through the "about this forum" pages, I have seen which people have
volunteered for this position. I will say nothing else about that.

However, I have had experiences that lead me to think that over time-
things will be revealed- things that matter to the composition and integrity
of our home here in cyberspace.

Please. Be patient.
If the system doesn't work the way I think Skinner & Company have designed it-
I have faith they will fix it.

In the meantime- I see the future of the new DU3 and I happen to
think in time, you will see how brilliant it is.

Nothing like shining the light on motivations.

I think Skinner &Company have come up with a brilliant way to rid our

I'm not a professional Futurist by any means: http://www.futures.hawaii.edu/ - I generally like what I see with the new moderation features, forum decentralization, and post sorting options. I have legitimate concerns about the rise in the cost of stars, I've voiced them in the proper place, and I shall not discourage others from participating or carrying on over what is decided. But I generally like what I see and I'm not prepared to give up my DU. What I can attempt to influence, I will do so in a determined, civil, and open-minded manner. I accept what is, and accept the limitations of what I can do. Il faut cultiver notre jardin.

Too much knee jerk reaction has become the norm for our culture, as a people on a planet.
An intense lack of critical thinking, if you will.

Futurists (not in the sense of futurism) or futurologists are scientists and social scientists whose speciality is to attempt to systematically predict the future, whether that of human society in particular or of life on earth in general.

It's a community, not unlike a college bull session, that depends on certain norms to make for a beneficial exchange of ideas. The more responsive and transparent, the better.

I like that. We are being funneled into folders, tabs, and monthly dues. Oh well. It has calmed my weary spirit over the years and I hope I will be able to continue to use it.
