Another Poet Withdraws TS Eliot Prize Because of Inv. Firm Sponsorship
I love poetry for what it is, but I also love it because poets have a conscience.

John Kinsella is the second poet to pull his name from the short list because of the funding of the TS Elliot award by the investment firm Aurum. Alice Oswald was the first poet to withdraw her name.

How embarrassing for the sponsor. They bankrolled this prestigious award and now the potential recipients want nothing to do with it because, as Kinsella says, "the business of Aurum does not sit with my personal politics and ethics."

This is just one of many ways that people are taking a stand against the deplorable behavior of the financial industry.
