U.S. military chief: Unclear if Israel would alert U.S. ahead of attack on Iran
From http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/u-s-military-chief-unclear-if-israel-would-alert-u-s-ahead-of-attack-on-iran-1.398808">Haaretz:
The top U.S. military officer told Reuters on Wednesday he did not know whether Israel would alert the United States ahead of time if it decided to take military action against Iran.

--snip--

"I'm not sure the Israelis share our assessment of that. And because they don't and because to them this is an existential threat, I think probably that it's fair to say that our expectations are different right now," Dempsey said in an interview as he flew to Washington from London.

Asked whether he was talking about the differences between Israeli and U.S. expectations over sanctions, or differences in perspective about the future course of events, Dempsey said:

"All of the above." He did not elaborate.

1. Why are we still sending them millions a day in military aid?

2. Perhaps because a good chunk of that 'foreign aid' returns to DC so the israelis can pay for the
gutter whores that we call our 'congress'.

4. Much of it is a defacto money transfer to the Military Industrial Complex
Edited on Wed Nov-30-11 07:13 PM by Cali_Democrat
Israel uses most of the aid for things like bombs, helicopters and fighter jets from the US defense industry. They of course use those weapons of war to oppress the Palestinian people and then Americans wonder why the Palestinians despise us.

The Military industrial Complex gets richer and the Palestinians get shafted. And of course the lobbyists for the MIC keep this going by essentially buying off the politicians in Washington DC.

3. "All of the above." Gen. Dempsey appears to be sane, Thank G-d.
No matter what havoc they may do when ordered, the professional military seemingly alone refuse to issue Bullshit threats. For that clarity of purpose, we need to thank them.

5. Well, well......
I have no issue with Israel legitimately defending herself but when she takes a provocative action without any consultation with the U.S., she must absolutely NOT be protected or aided in the event of a counter-attack. The arrogant bitch of the Middle East needs to learn that when you bite the hand of those that feed you, don't be surprised when there is no more food in your bowl.
