What's The Story On The Lady That Miscarried Her Baby In Washington After Being Poked In The .....
Edited on Tue Nov-22-11 07:21 PM by global1
belly by a cop? Was this associated with the Occupy movement? Why isn't this story all over the MSM. This is tragic. What am I missing here? This is an outrage and I really don't see that outrage here on DU. Is this lady falsifying this or is this really a true story. If it is true - why isn't this being talked about 24/7 on the MSM like the kids that were pepper sprayed at UC Davis? I don't get it.

2. Who knows what caused the miscarriage? I fell down a whole
flight of stairs while pregnant and holding a 15 month old. Nothing happened.

A few years later I had miscarriage w/o any logical reason.

3. Yeah, chances are the miscarriage would have happened anyway
Once you're beyond that 3 month mark, little will dislodge the little buggers. I knew someone who fell down a ladder, broke her back and ruptured her spleen and remained pregnant, although they had to take the baby to get to the spleen. Glad to say they both did fine.

However, this is the kind of thing we can rub the religious right's collective long blue nose in since they always seem to think miscarriage is someone's fault.

7. Because yeah, there's nothing like a miscarriage you can use for political points.

4. This OPs and the posts by its initial particpants, sound like a right wing circle jerk.
I do enjoy this rather weak attempt to defend the pepper praying of non-violent protesters.

Glenn Beck and the other GOP fascists would be proud of such support!!

5. She miscarried 5 days after the incident so causation isn't crystal clear.
I'd also say that first trimester miscarriages are very common, way more common than people want to acknowledge.

8. HIPAA laws would prohibit any of us knowing that unless the woman in question relases her records
Unfortunately spontaneous miscarriage (I believe the technical term is actually spontaneous abortion) is all too common in the first trimester for so many, many reasons. It's impossible to speculate imho (and I would theorize that maybe even the MSM isn't going there.)

Some OB-GYN's have even theorized it can be caused by too much stress. The woman in question is homeless so who knows what kind of pre-natal care she was getting as well.

A sad story all around.

11. Thanks for this uppityperson. Having the protesters level such serious charges, and they aren't true
doesn't do good things for the cause. It takes away from the real brutality occurring there unfortunately.

What a shame. Sounds like she needs help on several levels.
