2. Good article and worth the read but he still doesnt get it
He gets close at points but still doesn't get it that the economic system is what is screwing up the whole deal. The largest of every industry, especially finance, defense, insurance, and fossil fuels buy off the government favorable treatment.

6. Agreed, he doesn't get it in full - yet.
But he's thinking about it, he's wrestling with the idea in a serious way. I think it could be a good first step for most conservatives.

ONTH, I routinely put up articles I consider might sway conservative friends and family and they repeatedly come back again with completely asinine interpretations of what was said, it makes my stomach turn. Sigh.

Bad form there Forbes, it's under CC, you are making money from it and using his flicker bandwidth to do it.

5. I think the author gets it...
"America has a growth problem. Has had one for a decade now. An inability to create jobs turned the first decade of this millenium into “the lost decade.” For the first time ever, America ended a 10 year span with fewer people working, the stock market lower, wages lower, fewer people insured, interest income non-existent due to low yields and tax receipts down – leading all the largest population states to the edge of bankruptcy and pension-system meltdown. Like post 1995 Japan, America seems to be in a permanent “Great Recession.”...

Occupy Wall Street is easy for a traditionalist to ignore. One could blame their attention on “left wing liberal media.” But there’s a trend here. Something worth understanding. Unless we invest in innovation to put people to work, this “movement” could become a much more serious business and social issue."

plus he totally slays the idiocy of tea

12. check the comments today, the author is replying to occupy supporter's comments...
I spend much time on business sites like The Economist, Forbes, Financial Times, etc.

Being macroeconomically literate IMO is important in light of the tea parties illiteracy

It's like a whole other Part II to the article.

The OWS supporters are really trying to teach him what OWS is about. And he's trying to understand, at least on an intellectual level, but admits that coming from a top down corporate world, it's difficult to comprehend. So I give him kuddos for trying to understand a completely new paradigm.

14. He's definitely missed that bus
He doesn't seem to realize that to have a .. paraphrasing... polished bulleted agenda with a clear spokesperson/model in today's world automatically means that someone had to put up major $$$ for that.
