Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky admitted Monday he took showers and "horsed around" with young boys, but he insisted he is not a pedophile who criminally assaulted children, according to his lawyer and an interview he gave to NBC.


I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact," Sandusky said in the interview being aired on NBC News' Rock Center, according to the program's website.

"I shouldn't have showered with those kids,'' Sandusky added.

1. pepperbear..Sickening, but what I also find interesting....

regards the public release of the Grand Jury presentment:

which the NYT, Nov 10th, "Abuse Inquiry Set Tricky Path for a Governor" article, 2nd last para says "..the grand jury indictment was filed under seal, but because of a computer glitch it had mistakenly been made public".....

So I am applauding the computer glitches that released the data to the public... because without that data... the accusers would have had a lesser voice....especially as the Sandusky defense: just doing what Jocks do.. showering with horseplay... is so well understood in regards to adult athletes in the situation...and Sandusky was so much a part of that culture..and the fear of pointing the accusatory finger towards anyone of such a deplored crime as child sexual abuse.. really remains the taboo.

Essentially, if the Grand Jury findings were not public, with the data available for all to see, the current conversation would be impossible.

But, I come back to the idea that at the moment, many have read the presentment... and are furious with Sandusky... but I imagine, if the Presentment was still under seal.... that Sandusky's lawyers words might resonate positively with a great many people.
