Poll question: 460 years in jail
Former Penn State Assistant Coach Reportedly Faces 460 Years in Jail

Nov. 5: Former Penn State football defensive coordinator Gerald Sandusky sits in a car as he leaves the office of Centre County Magisterial District Judge Leslie A. Dutchcot in State College, Pa.

The former Penn State defensive coordinator at the center of a sex-abuse scandal that claimed the job of the university’s president and head football coach, potentially faces 460 years in jail if convicted of all charges, MyFoxPhilly.com first reported.

Jerry Sandusky, the former assistant coach accused of sexually abusing or molesting eight underage victims, faces 40 offenses that, in total, add up to 460 years in jail if convicted and hit with the maximum sentence, the station reported, citing a criminal complaint filed last Friday.

Sandusky is accused of sexually abusing eight boys over a 15-year period through a charity he founded for at-risk youth.

2. I have long wondered if acting on pedophilia is one of impulse control...
or if they are so obsessed even the worst negative consequences can not be enough to stop them.... Plenty of people remain abstinent--for whatever reason--including those for whom sex has had very negative impacts. Are these types just so arrogant that they think they are "entitled?" So arrogant they don't fear the consequences? Or is the risk only serving to "heighten the desire?"

Just as I can't stop wondering what drives serial killers, I am at a loss to explain what explains people like this to act on their pedophlia--even if their desire for children MIGHT be a result of neurochemical or other pathology.

4. In fairness, kutcher defended paterno before knowing any details, just saw a scrolling headline
when he got home saying paterno was fired.

6. This? The Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA)
The Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA) was founded in 2010 by Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher to help abolish modern day slavery, punish perpetrators and free the innocent and exploited victims. The DNA Foundation is committed to protecting the freedom of the world’s most vulnerable citizens by forcing sex slavery out of the shadows and into the spotlight.

I don't see the problem with the goal. I don't know any details as I've never heard of it.

7. I doubt he'll get anywhere near the maximum sentances
heck, I doubt 100% of the charges will stick.

Given that this is a first time offense, his former popularity, and charactar references (along with several other factors that go into sentencing guidelines)... I doub't he'll get the maximum sentances available. And that's if all of this goes to trial. I'll bet he pleads some of the charges away and takes reduced sentaces on the remaining charges.

However, he will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
