1. Great (and funny) video
"Artie Moffa suggests in a YouTube video that people who cannot take part in the Occupy protests in person take prepaid credit card mailers and fill them with junk -- not just any junk, but pieces of wood or any other items that would be heavy enough to cost the banks more postage, he tells ABCNews.com.

"I kept getting all of these credit card mailers," he told the news organization. "It struck me as tone deaf that banks would continue hawking their wares in the midst of all this."

Moffa, a poet and SAT tutor, believes such mailings would help encourage a dialogue with Wall Street."

2. I cannot do wait to do that to Chase.
I sent a couple "Return to Sender" Chase junk mails back and the USPS was concerned that I had moved.

His method is much better.

4. Return to sender doesn't cost them anything
Nor does it let them know why you did it.

3. Maybe this would work
for all of those insurance company solicitations we get as well. Those things are really annoying.

5. I do that anyway.
There are at least three banks that send me an application once a week. They have been doing it for months. That includes Discover, who dropped me a year or so ago, because I hadn't used their damn card in years. Now, they're begging me to come back.

I hadn't thought about loading up those envelopes with junk. Good idea. Anything to help out the USPS.

8. This gives me an idea
This reminds me of what my mom told me people did when she was a kid. She told me that when she was young, she got wind of what some people did to Congress when they were dissatisfied with legislation.

Some people sent used diapers to their congresscritters when they were acting childish (ideal for David Vitter btw). Others shipped their garbage in boxes. Back then, those "special deliveries" really sent a message to Congress and told them not to ignore their constituents. If any one of us shipped our shit and trash now, we'd be arrested by those thin-skinned Congressbrats. We should bring back the time-honored and lost tradition of sending symbolic message of our frustration with our so-called representatives via U.S. Mail. We can't send biohazards, but we can send unused Depends to the repunks in Congress, Monopoly money to the lobbyists on K Street, or a box of rocks to Eric Cantor (because that's what's in his head), for instance.

I love the idea of mailing junk back to Wall Street the same way they delivered us junk. :)

9. Just posted in the other thread on this...
that it probably won't work.

Because the post office has the right to throw out anything that looks suspicious with a postpaid label on it.

See, we tend to think that people who work in the PO are sort of...stupid...and don't know that others do things like that. Hmmm....business reply envelope to a big company...feels like a bunch of nuts and bolts. Or maybe a copy of "War and Peace" inside. Duhhhhhhh.....looks fine...let it go through...

uh, yeah. Right.

So everybody who's getting a big kick out of having done it in the past...screwed over a company for a few piddling cents (or dollars), guess what...it's more than likely the envelope or package was scrutinized, maybe even opened, and then tossed out.

What's Plan B?

12. That's why I just put paper in the envelope.
...preferably, right-wing literature that my Alz. mother still gets in the mail( she was funding both left and right sides and didn't know it). I also stuff rt-wing envelopes with liberal stuff.

The Snopes piece talks about the false advice supposedly given by Andy re telemarketers, but does mention his 60 Minutes bit re junk mail.
