Obama losing donors
"President Barack Obama has lost millions of dollars in support from former donors in Democratic strongholds and in districts that he won narrowly four years ago, according to an Associated Press analysis of the most recent federal campaign finance data.

Tens of thousands of supporters who gave him hundreds of dollars or more in the early stages of the 2008 campaign haven't offered him similar amounts of cash so far in this campaign. And in some cases, former Obama contributors gave to GOP candidates, such as former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney."

I think the following quote is a common sentiment among a lot of former Obama supporters:
"He was our state senator, and when I looked at the Republican side, I thought, 'We need some fresh blood in the campaign,'" said Janet Tavakoli, 58, a financial analyst from Chicago who gave $1,000 to the president in 2008. "But I was dead wrong about it," she said, and isn't supporting any candidate this time."

A lot of people are having buyer's remorse when it comes to Obama and are going to sit out 2012. A few months ago I stated that the biggest opponent that Obama was facing was himself, and this is why. He has failed to bring about even a modicum of change, and a lot of people simply aren't enthused by him anymore.

The election next year is Obama's to lose, but he really has his work cut out for him, getting one time supporters enthused and to the polls. At this point it could all play out rather badly for Obama.

1. I donate to certain socialists sites, I donate here, and I donate to Occupy -
as far as political donations Mr. Obama is last on my list at this point. I'm sure he'll be fine with his Wall Street friends.

7. Change is never easy and always takes time
I will continue to support our President even though like all Presidents I have supported over the years I have been disappointed by the politics involved in some of their decisions. That is part of being the President of this country. It doesn't invalidate all of his positions I like and support.

You don't rip the roots of the corporate grip on our government up in one term when you are trying to use an axe with one arm tied behind your back instead of a chainsaw with an army of helpers behind you in the Congress.

I didn't expect Obama to be Superman although he has handled himself well considering the avalanche that was taking place as he walked into the White House.

He deserves our support for four more years.

If you want things done get the Congress back. Get real progressives in the House and Senate then lets see what our President can get done.

What is the option at this point?

Are we going to cave to further corporate greed and control of our government?

Are we really just going to hand this over to Romney?

Are we willing to just let the Republicans select the next two Supreme Court Justices?

Obama stood before the nation and congress and called out the Citizen's United case backed by the Supreme Court.

Our President did this.

Get real progressives in office to back him and lets see what can happen.

He has my support and what few dollars I have to give.

5. Janet's quote is very strange
Financial Analyst: ...supported him, then didn't, now thing I'm wrong, I dunno... get a Republican next time and fire everyone, our companies need fresh blood for 25 cents and hour. (that's Janet, not me) :puke:

10. In 2012
Obama gets my vote. Nothing more.

He has not been my champion.

I will focus my efforts and my resources on other elections. State and local elections. Other Dem candidates.

Perhaps I will find my champion elsewhere.
