Social Security and Medicare Demonstration in Pennsylvania Tomorrow
I thought this event may interest some Pennsylvania DUers:

A group of concerned citizens will gather outside Bill Shuster's offices in Chambersburg PA and Hollidaysburg PA, each bearing a sheet cake decorated to resemble a medicare card. The message will be.....

NO CUTS! HANDS OFF!
Medicare and Social Security
www.saynocuts.org

.....and it will be directed to Congressman Bill Shuster PA- 9, and PA Senator Toomey, who is on the SuperCommittee. They will cut the cake and offer it to Mr Shuster with a note that reads......

"Cut the Cake, Not Medicare or Social Security".

The event is open to members of the public in each area and signs and tee shirts will provided with similar messages. Everybody gets a piece of the cake! We will remain on the public sidewalk in each case (except for the single person knocking on the door with the piece of cake) and be careful not to block it. The press has been invited.

The event takes place in each location at 12 Noon tomorrow Tuesday, October 18, and the street address are as follows:

District Address (Hollidaysburg)
310 Penn Street
Suite 200
Hollidaysburg, PA 16648

If attending this event in Hollidaysburg, there will be an optional gathering a half hour in advance in the Black Dog Coffee shop, right around the corner from Shuster's office. Or you can just show up at noon. GO 99%!

District Address (Chambersburg)
100 Lincoln Way East
Suite B
Chambersburg, PA 17201

If attending this event in Chambersburg, there will be an optional gathering a half hour in advance in the On What Grounds Coffee shop, right around the corner from Shuster's office. Or you can just show up at noon. GO 99%!

2. It would be really cool if their theatre could morph into something along
the lines of "Let them eat cake ..." Just a thought.

6. That is good. However, it always disturbs me when they leave out
Medicaid. What seniors must not know is that Medicaid is a supplement to Medicare for seniors who are the poorest and when it comes time to go to a nursing home it is Medicaid that pays for that when their personal savings runs out. If we only emphasis the first two then many seniors are going to be without help when they need it the most.
