This is the United (UNITED States of America) Americans come
together and support each other. When one State is hurting
the other states have traditionally pitched in and expect
Fema use our funds to help them. This is the American Way.
The Tea Party and their Federalism obsession and Deficit
Over reach is not the American Way.

Romney talks about sending whole Agencies back to the
States where each state would have responsibility for running
these agencies in their states.
Perry does not believe some programs are constitutional and
others should be put under state authority.
Ron Paul, gets down to specifics. Just get rid of Fema and
let each state take care of itself.

I am sure the Governors struggling with flood and others
trying to restore things post Irene would just love to
be told--You are on your own. Take care of your own state.
HOW MUCH ARE THEY GOING TO RAISE STATE TAXES to support
all these new responsibilities.

The Tea Party lacks common sense when they throw out
all these ideas.

2. Does one trust the state in which one lives, or the Federal ...
Govt. to protect ones rights. I trust the Feds. States cannot take on the responsibilities of agencies such as OSHA, FEMA, EPA, health care, pension programs, etc. There would be corruption and an increase in taxes.

States will not represent the best interests of individuals, rather they will represent the interests of special interest groups. You think lobbies have an influence over Congress members, just wait till you see them invade state houses, at 2, 3, or 4 times what the rate that exists now.
