coverage - looks like they finally realized they could use link ups with the Weather Channel. Of course there's a lot of stupid spin but the overall coverage isn't half bad.

3. I was noticing last night that CNN had some hookups while
MSNBC just had The Guy On The Beach Getting Blown Around. Glad to hear they're doing it right!

6. I'd rather have the Irene coverage.
I cannot stand when any stations, local, national, or international, go into that "autopilot" mode like that. I call it autopilot mode, anyhow. It's when they just show the same crap over and over again. You know that no one is there watching what is happening news-wise.

It's really a waste of our time to pay for their station if they are only going to work 9 to 5 then loop the same crap over and over again the rest of the time. When they are doing that, even if some major news did happen, they would still be showing the same repetitive crap they've shown a thousand times before instead of reporting on it...because they'd all really be home in bed and not doing their damn jobs.

We pay to watch their stations. The least they could do is bother to do their jobs. If not, I'd rather they go back to the old Star Spangled Banner at midnight like stations used to do, then go to the bars across the screen until morning. It sure beats sub-par programming all night. I'd rather have quality than quantity.

8. Although my viewing has been somewhat sporadic,
it seems like the channels are mostly carrying 1 story at a time. Poor Kim got left at the alter as they rushed off to hunt Khadafi. Just as I was getting good at hunting, the earth shook in Virgina, and now he and Libya have pretty much fallen off the news until Irene passes. It would be nice to occasionally hear updates on the stories that once dominated the news, with the exception of the Kardashian wedding. It seems like it's been a while since I've heard news coverage in regard to Fukushima. Too bad the situations aren't resolved as quickly as we turn our attention away from them.

9. I agree that most news sources are terrible at covering an on-going story like Fukushima.
