1. And a "warning" means "it's coming", right? I always get
confused between Watches and Warnings and something else they always throw out there.

As they've been saying, this is historic!

3. Watch means you may get hurricane conditions
Warnings mean you WILL get hurricane conditions.

4. I was hoping that the "storm moving a little slower than expected"
and "it's breaking up a bit" and "no longer any purple" might be cause for hope. But as I've said, I've been inland in NC when a hurricane just went up the coast - not coming into land - and even we experienced stormy conditions. It could weaken a lot and still create havoc. :(

7. Actually the good news is it's Cat 2 and not Cat 3
Water will be the problem and trees falling because the ground is saturated

10. Hurricane Gloria for one....
......took a much similar path to this one and not mentioned because it doesn't have enough death and destruction for the media. Just an expensive nuisance.

8. I talked with my sisters living in Maryland. One sister has a summer place
in Ocean City. She was going to go yesterday. Today she was told they are evacuating Ocean City. I am glad she is staying home. My sisters living next door to one another and they are staying together. What a week they been having. I pray for all of them.
