No room for more white crosses (Lafayette, CA)
This hillside memorial is visible from some San Francisco East Bay BART trains and has seen its share of protests by war supporters. For eight years volunteers have planted crosses or other appropriate symbols to mark the death of each service person in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I don't think that when it was started anyone would have guessed that they'd fill the space.

2. I'm one of the BART riders who sees this on a regular basis
and it's hard for us to forget that the country is in multiple war actions.

3. I was taking BART everyday
but now just drive by it on occasion. It is a good reminder to people who don't think about the wars on a regular basis. It's bad that it is still there (that we are still over there) but on the other hand they are and have been doing a good thing.

4. Yeah, but at least Obama feels bad about it.
I'm sure that comforts the families he's destroying on both sides of the ocean.
