SDPD Officer Shot In Head; Suspect Sought
SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego police officer was shot in the head in City Heights, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The incident reportedly occurred near 45th Street and University Avenue at about 5:40 p.m. The officer was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. There is no word on his condition.

Sources told 10News that one of the suspects in the shooting was fatally shot. That suspect was believed to be the driver of a black Audi in connection with the shooting.

Well when I saw all of Western Division take off code 3 I knew something bad happened...

From the comments, not confirmed yet, the officer died. (Head shot... what can I say?)

If you want to get sick some of the comments are sickening...

But they do point to how ill we are as a society.

we had a spat in the 80s... but it is rare...

If he did indeed die, RIP... and if they captured the second hostage it is automatically a capital case. For the record, I am against the death penalty so if I get a jury summons for many reason would not be able to serve in that jury.

On edit the department buried one oh less than six months ago,
