You haven't heard much about the effort to repeal HB 194, the voter suppression bill on which Republicans are staking their hopes of carrying Ohio next year. That's because there has been gamesmanship going on behind the scenes. Attorney general Mike Dewine has rejected the initial petition language. So the Democratic Party has ONE DAY to collect enough signatures to get substitute petition language approved. One thousand signatures have to be submitted by Thursday. This s the first step. Once language is approved, we have until the end of September to collect the 231,000 signatures to put it on the November 2012 ballot.
