Ok, FINAL THOUGHT: This whole thing will accomplish NOTHING!
Edited on Mon Aug-01-11 05:48 PM by Change Happens
The President proposed a budget with $4 trillion cuts in it, it went down...

Ryan budget plan proposed a budget with $5.7 trillion in cuts, it went down...

Senator Cornyn I think proposed something with $9 trillion in cuts, it is gone...

Simpson Bowles had $4 trillion, it went down...

Gang of six have $4.2 trillion in cuts, they went down...

Agreeing on $1 trillion in cuts over 10 years, much of it delayed until sometime later, then forming a committee of stupid ass politicians in DC to study how they can come up with more even further down the road cuts is pure fantasy...The pukes themselves recognized today that they will be trillions in more spending before the curve starts bending down on spending, I think it was Paul Ryan himself saying that we were projected to spend near $10 or 11 trillion, now we are a looking at near 5-6 trillion in future spendings...Meaning nobody is going to be able to wrap their arms around this for now.

President wins:

1) longterm debt ceiling increase

2) Safe Medicare/Medicaid and SS programs

3) Tremendously HUGE cuts in defense

4) Embarrass the teabag puke party for being 100% crazy lunatics during the debate

1. Your OP is either sarcastic or one big contradiction.

4. Why do they keep telling us these programs are safe?
The first thing out of this coming committee is most likely the chained CPI?
It is going to cost us across-the-board. Higher taxes and lower benefits to vets,
Federal retirees, and dare I say it, SS recipients. It is a clever way to slowly steal
from us over time.

And it will all be in the name of saving the economy, debt reduction, and SS reform.
They will still be arguing around here that SS has been saved and we should be
grateful.

#1 Congrats. Obama let the GOP turn housekeeping into a hostage situation.

#2 The Big 3 are NOT safe in the 2nd round.

#3 Ditto defense cuts are not in the bag.

#4 The reality based community doesn't see this as a victory against the teaklan or for working Americans.

5. You are absolutely on target.
Let's revisit that list about 5 months from now. And see how the
sequel to this hideous drama has played out.
