what I believe
many here sort of accuse me of being a closet republican. Let me explain my beliefs. I didn't become a democrat because I believe in the principles, I became a democrat because I fucking hate the religious right. While defending the middle class is important, its not the only thing to be worried about. I don't even want it to be the democratic party. I want it to be the antithesis to the religious right. We need to focus on culture more. I believe the republicans have successfully crafted themselves as the regular joe six pack through rural identity politics. What we need to do is to craft ourselves as the party of Venice Beach. We need to find a guy like Joe Wurzelbacher. If you have seen the movie "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny" I think Jack Black's character could be our Joe the Plumber. He is someone who is culturally liberal living in a diverse and cool place like Venice Beach, not some sh**h**e small town in the middle of ******* nowhere. In the same way that Joe the Plumber defied the interests of the liberal snobs, we need to have someone like JB defy the rural, humble, religious type of people that he helped escape from at the beginning of the movie.

5. I see one problem right away. What's Venice Beach? See...you don't seem to

realize, wherever you are, that there is a huge "other" country out here, which is not where you are. All these millions of people have never heard of Venice Beach, or know whether it's a "sh*th*le" in a rural area or not.

If you want to connect to people, you first have to know and understand them. And get out your old geographical map.

Secondly, a lot of people live in little towns in rural areas. To those people who sometimes live in wood frame houses or even shacks, those are not "sh*h*les." Those towns are home. Except I guess maybe to people in Venice Beach.

Sign me....someone living in Dallas, Texas, but who was born and raised in a small "sh*th*le" in a rural area. And it was heaven riding my bike down the roads of that little town. I would never vote for anyone who thought my hometown was a "sh*h*le."
