Iconic Picture Of The Struggle We Are ALL In, One Way Or Another
Most profound picture I've seen from Greece so far.

2. Is there a link for that?
My daughter's boyfriend is in Athens for the summer and he's been filming the protests. My daughter is supposed to join him in 3 weeks. To say that I am worried about the two of them would be putting in mildly.

23. So what?

Germany also has a massive tax avoidance problem, yet their economy is doing well. Wealthy Americans and American corporations are experts at exploiting tax laws and abusing tax havens, but no one is blaming our woes on tax evaders.

Correlation is not causation. Greece has a decades long history of lax tax collection. That is not the cause of this current crisis and zeroing in on this aspect ignores the larger structural problems that plague Greece, and simultaneously shifts the blame onto the victims of the neoliberal pillage rather than its perpetrators.

25. Many of our woes are indeed from tax evaders,
..though often it is done within the letter, but not the spirit of the law. I don't know enough about Germany's tax collection problems relative to Greece, but Germany is far more industrialized than Greece, so their economy can withstand tax avoidance better. Greece does not appear to even track people's incomes like in the US (W2 etc)....and if it has been going on for decades, then at some point, things had to break.

As usual, the perps in Greece's case are the wealthy and the masses will be the victims, but here we are and the preventable was not prevented.

11. Meh. Moderate dems & repukes support the Security State.
The repukes because they've spent decades supporting & promoting the MIC & moderates because they feel
Compelled to support their war expansionist president.

Moderates will 'oppose' a repuke war/security promoter - a dem? Not so much.

24. Kick. These posts about people who actually ARE
fighting the bankers need to stay on the front page. They need to be in our face, so that we can see what needs to be done when it comes for us.

It's also good to see that there's not a lot of the reflexive blame given to the people for this class war. It's on the bankers and I, for one, will ALWAYS be on the side of the people against bankers.
