I was wrong about something and I can prove it.
It took me a few minutes to find this post. Almost exactly 2 years ago I posted that I didn't see how marriage equality would pass in my home state of NY. I don't know if I was shortsighted, or underestimated Cuomo, or something else. Either way, I was wrong and I am happy to admit it.

1. Anything is possible is what I live by
I've seen too many things changes to believe otherwise.

2. Nah. You just overestimated the uniform assholery of the NY Republicans.
Which--speaking as a veteran of NY state politics--is almost never a bad bet.

3. I was sure this push was a waste of time and effort.
Worse background conditions (given Republican control of the Senate) than Maryland and Rhode Island, where we failed; no convincing reason why the failure last time should change this time.

I have never been more glad to be totally, utterly, massively wrong.

4. We failed in the last term in NY as well.
And we had a majority. So I thought it was nearly impossible with the new republican majority.

7. My reasoning was basically the same as yours.
That was the "failure last time" I referred to in my last post (I know the phrasing is a bit ambiguous.) I didn't believe this even had a good shot at happening until the three Democrats switched sides.

6. No worries.
Failure is always an option. :eyes: Your title cracked me up. Thanks.
