Poll question: Do you approve of Obama's choice of William Daley as the next White House Chief of Staff?
For those of you who don't know, William Daley is currently serving on the Executive Committee of J.P. Morgan Chase.

He's a bankster.

2. I'm not going to judge him because he's affiliated w/J.P. Morgan although I'm
tempted to. There's more to him that that position, though, and I don't know enough to vote a strong Yes or No. So,

are there no liberals that Obama can appoint to anything? It is like we do not exist.

11. Shit, at this point....
I'd except him appointing someone to something who just doesn't have blatant wall street/bank ties.

And no, I'm sorry, appointing Warren to maybe, sort of interim, as unofficial-as-can-be-so-as-to-not-piss-off-republicans, maybe slightly economic consumer director of something or other does not count.

installed the bankers/insiders/Bush people. I honestly don't get it.

so this makes me somewhat hopeful. A much better feeling to harbor! Somebody also said Howard Dean said he was a very good choice, and I trust Dean, too. Going to read this now. Thanks again! :hi:

59. How about a NO for his work on NAFTA?
He was special counsel advising Clinton on that. How about NO because he is from the Daley crony clan that runs Chicago?

I wouldn't fault him for any one thing, but take them all together and this guy is a corporatist who is going to steer Obama into making more and more concessions to big business at the expense of the middle class.

38. I'm less worried about his having worked for Morgan...
...than about his not being a good administrator (which I've heard from my Chicago friends). Chief of Staff is a position where ideology isn't as important as it is in, say, communications or policy, but if you can't manage multiple big egos (and, again, my Chicago friends say he can't) then you're going to be in trouble.

Obama's little "shocking" appointments are getting very old; not big surprises. We get it already Barack, you are a corporate stooge. I bet you'll get a nice fat paycheck heading up some bank somewhere after your presidential dreams are fulfilled. You better hope lots of republicans and other DLC types vote for you because the (big L) Left has disembarked from your Bullshit Express.
