Possibly The Dumbest Columnist Ever: The Plain Dealer's Kevin O'Brien.
http://www.cleveland.com/obrien/index.ssf/2011/01/2_years_for_the_gop_to_step_up.html

This . . . is . . . wow. Just. WOW. I don't know if a column can handle so much stupid, but the Plain Freeper, of course, prints this without any issue. This guy is on their editorial board; high up, if I'm not mistaken. This is our Kangaroo Fourth Estate at work. Faux News should recruit this propaganda-spewing wonk into their ranks . . . he'd fit right in. (emphasis is mine)

A new Congress began its work on Wednesday.

(snip)

Although the Republicans cannot yet undo much of the damage inflicted on the country by two years of rampant statism, their House majority can and must block further depredations.

Although the Democrats in the Senate cannot do further damage without Republican complicity in the House, they can and will block the dismantling of last session's deep federal incursions into the energy and financial sectors of the economy. They certainly will not allow the repeal of Obamacare, the national health care takeover that the Democrats understand is the key to a permanent change in the national character in their favor.

"Statism". "Obamacare". "National Health Care takeover". This is what passes as "journalism" nowadays?

Oh, you'll love this . . .

Obamacare's certain evolution into the single-payer system the president has said he prefers would change a government designed to serve the people into a government designed to rule the people. It would change the individual -- every American individual -- from a free economic and political agent into a dependent.

(snip)

Current circumstances are forcing even Democrats to pay lip service to the need for government cost containment. That creates an environment in which the Republicans can stand for ideas that, until recently, would have been too politically dangerous even to whisper. Conservatives need to shout them.

A sampling:

Entitlements: Social Security and Medicare aren't geared to today's or tomorrow's demographics. This Congress won't fix them, but the next might if House conservatives get their ideas in the limelight now.

"Green" energy: Free-market conservatives in the House must grab every chance to put the brakes on shifting tax dollars to technologies and products that can't make it on their own. Let the windmill and solar "visionaries" rise or fall on their own nickel. And when even Al Gore admits that ethanol is a scam, it's time to put an end to that tax-supported foolishness.

The people have never been more receptive to a conservative argument. What is not yet clear is whether the Republicans are serious about making one.

What America does this asshat LIVE in? 1954? Mainstream American Politics have NO REAL 'LEFT', idiot!!! They haven't for about 30 years now. I don't know, any of you fine people know of any "statists" that give the wealthy, the corporations, the insurance conglomerates and the financial world everything they want? Did we redefine "Democrat" somehow?

IDIOT.

2. The Plain Dealer's Kevin O'Brien: So Stupid It Hurts
Kevin O'Brien, in his column in today's Plain Dealer, accuses President Obama of making up the current economic crisis as an "excuse" to pass a "stimulus" bill that is actually a stalking horse for liberal priorities. I won't provide a link to the column, because its' absolute stupidity makes my head hurt.

Oh the economic crisis is made up, is it, Kevin? Is that why corporations have announced a quarter of a million job cuts since January 1st? Is that why we have more people receiving unemployment benefits than ever before?

4. Does anyone else get the feeling that
today seems like a Revolution being launched by those we should be REVOLTING against with every fiber of our being, collectively?

Maybe it's just me and what I've come across today. I mean, did somebody pour Fascist-Chow(tm)out in the open, inciting them to all run out of their holes and holler?

5. I'm hoping they'll fall flat on their collective faces, as usual.
There's no pretension as to what the USA has become - it's ubiquitous Friendly Fascism, really.

It's just that you cannot push people's buttons to care about this sort of thing if they're struggling hand-to-mouth to make a living. While strengthening themselves, they weakened us big time.
