I would highly recommend folks go to a community college to learn telecom...AC/DC theory, Semiconductor Circuit Analysis,

Even start working as an installer running Ethernet and putting in "installing, pre-configured" IP-PBX. The growth curve on how we communicate is going to skyrocket for the next 20 years.

Apple would really love to own their own carrier network right now. Google is trying damn hard in telephony and doing the right moves. In a decade you'll be walking into your office on your I-Phone and transfer the video call with your boss to your PC/IP Phone seamlessly. G.722 will be the perferred CODEC between carriers instead of G.711.

Just some friendly advice and a break from the wienerschnitzel I ate earlier :)

5. Me neither. I know all about AC/DC...
...but I'm not up on Semiconductor Circuit Analysis and the rest of those new bands mentioned in the post.

4. Yeah, baby. In my wheelhouse.
Having a CCNA or CCNP is a good idea too.
Juniper.
It's the next best thing.
Ethernet?
Lose the last mile.
Know what that means?
You should.

This is why at 56, I plan on being relevant for the next 10 years.
