"Tired of tax & spend government? Vote Republican"
Big shiny wooden sign painted red, white, and blue on the side of the highway this morning as I headed out to do my weekly errands in town.

No counter messages about the theft of America by the Rs either side of the of the road all 25 miles in and back.

Do we have a message, folks, or are we so committed to circular firing squad political strategies that we aren't going to push back?

1. What would the Democrats say, after emptying our pockets for Wall Street?
Both parties help the ruling class fleece the peons

6. The last one requires a disclaimer
*=Does not apply to Senators Nelson, Landrieu or Begich.

7. Can't put that one in my hometown, that's true.
Actually, it might work for Nelson here. You never know.

4. Trouble is, it's hard to do in a snappy slogan
I can't remember the link, but there was a poll that showed a disturbing number of people believing things that were factually untrue, like that their personal income tax had gone up under Obama, or that the average tax take was much higher than it actually is. It takes more than an billboard to correct such misperceptions. The reason Republicans are so successful is that they have no scruples about lying in what they believe to be a higher cause (ie getting elected).

5. YAWN. They do this shit every election cycle.
Are Americans finally catching on? I doubt it. We are a very stupid country.

9. The one that I see in rural Johnson county says "TIRED OF BIG
GOVERNMENT? VOTE REPUBLICAN!"

This is clearly a professionally-done sign, not some spray-painted thing thrown together in 30 seconds.

It sits on the lawn of a farmer who typically displays huge signs supporting the Republican candidates every election cycle.

It just always reminds me of Rachel's "REALLY REALLY REALLY BIG GOVERNMENT" segments on the latest invasive crap they're trying to pull.

11. Wonder how much that farmer gets paid to not grow alfalfa
No doubt he regards government subsidies to anyone other than farmers as creeping socialism.

16. So freakin moronic on way too many levels. Bush was in office
for 8 years and at the end BEFORE Obama took office, because of the regressives mishandling of the government, trillions of dollars were given to their crook friends. They knew it wouldn't be given after Obama took office.
