Does Rand Paul...
have a "right" to earn a living as a physician?

2. I think it's pretty shady that he's certified by his own "board". Probably some kind of ethics
violation.

3. Either that or he was too lazy to do the work to be board certified
in his specialty, something that seems much more likely.

4. It's more than "laziness", it's criminal negligence.
Seriously, do you want a doctor working on you (or specifically your eyes, in Rand's case) who hasn't picked up a medical journal in 20 years? Medicine is advancing, someone who does not keep up with board certification is not.

I don't know whether this is actually legal or not, but if it is legal, this loophole needs to be closed.

7. Unfortunately, it's legal in most states.
There have been scandals here and there when non board certified plastic surgeons have caused horrific damage to their patients.

You're right, the loophole needs to be closed.

6. Just to set the record straight:
He is a member of a professional organization that he created, not his own medical board.

5. I don't know that he still practices medicine but
according to a friend of mine no matter how much he practiced he never got it right. This friend is convinced that Paul killed his wife by gross malpractice.
