In light of the reported discovery of a large pornography stash in the Bilal Town lair of the late Osama bin Laden, here’s a mug shot of fellow terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki, who was convicted a couple of times for trolling for street hookers while living in California.

Al-Awlaki, 40, was twice collared on prostitution charges while living in San Diego. He is seen above in a booking photo snapped after a 1997 solicitation arrest. In search of an affordable blowjob, the imam apparently relaxed his devout Muslim beliefs (at least for a few minutes).

The American-born Islamic scholar, who is targeted for death by U.S. forces, was sentenced to probation, fined, and ordered to perform community service following the 1997 bust. A 1996 conviction resulted in al-Awlaki being sentenced to attend an AIDS education course and to pay fines and restitution.

Al-Awlaki could not be reached for comment about his rap sheet.

I recall reading about some of the hijackers who indulged in some very un-Islamic debauchery in the days leading up to their terrible deed. Perhaps they expect something like 'special dispensation' for their sins in the afterlife for their act of martyrdom. Religion can provide a convenient rationalization for practically anything.

Muslim men. Chastity seems to only apply to the women or to the men only if they commit adultery with a married woman. Now alcohol is really forbidden and that would be considered a real debauchery.

There was a time that polygamy was practical back when warrior societies kept killing the men off and there was an excess of women, but her rationale makes little sense today. I still think that Muslim men get a pass on porn and visiting prostitutes. It's like back when I was in Catholic school and they told us that sex was for marriage only, but for some reason or the other, it was only the women who were expected to be virgins, not the men. I doubt if you will see any Muslim men punished for looking at porn yet they will be punished if caught using alcohol in fundamentalist Muslim countries.
