The Facebook Status that Gets the Freepers....

Yesterday, someone posted an AWESOME status update. I have searched for that original post to give credit (because their handle escapes me) and had no luck. In the interest of disclosure though, I wanted to make sure I included that. I retooled that poster's status so that it would fit, and here it is:

On 3-12-02, G.W. Bush said "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." Well I THANK GOD we elected a President that made it a priority. Thank you President Obama, and the brave service members of the United States of America. I stand with you, and I stand with our Commander in Chief. REPOST IF YOU AGREE, and are proud to be an American!

3. Yeah. It made 2 freepers crawl out of the woodwork of my FB friends.

One told me that to get a different perspective, I should try reading Bush's book. The other one told me that I should remember to be so critical of President Obama after he's trounced in election and writes his memoirs. I told him I don't read memoirs since I don't know a single person (former Pres, star, sports hero, etc) who doesn't write theirs to make them and their position sound better. It's much better to read fully the bills they sign into law and observe the decisions they make while they're in office in order to tell the kind of person they are.

I've read Bush's book cover to cover - it didn't do much to change my opinion. Too much "well shucks, we tried!"

7. I Posted Just The Bush Quote On My FB Page, And Got A Response From A RWer

He claimed that when you hear the ENTIRE QUOTE, rather than just, "one line taken out of context," it makes it sound better.

I told him that THAT must explain why, when HE had the chance to give the order to go in and kill Bin Laden back in 2002, HE told them to stand down. Words. Actions. Disconnect.
