6. How does pride come into it in the first place?
An evil man is no more. That is all. Who's proud. I'm glad he's gone. That's it.

10. Yup. He's dead. But so are about one million other people
that had nothing to do with the attack on the 'Towers', but because America went ape-shit crazy.

Bin Laden's dead

14. I'm glad he's gone. However, I'm not too sure about the celebrations in the streets.
How do we view people when they go out in the streets celebrating when they kill one of our soldiers? Let's say a country like North Korea killed one of ours or an allied general or leader, and the people there were seen out celebrating the streets with North Korean flags and singing nationalistic songs?

Either way, I won't be shedding a tear for this asshat.

Would you prefer that we choked him out?

16. Well, since you had nothing to do with it, there would be nothing
to be proud of, I suppose. It just is. That is all.

17. Counterpoint.
The victims of 911.

They weren't so lucky to die of a quick bullet to the head.

You'll not find me running down the street with an American flag today, but still, the evil of this man is in little doubt. And I'm glad that it didn't fall on me to deliver the kill shot, but it's probably best for the world that somebody did.

18. Pride feels damn good, but humility will take you alot further in life.

It's also great to be cleaver, but I would also take a little bit of wisdom over cleaverness any day.

And when you seek revenge, build a grave for two.

Oh well. Different strokes for different fokes. Have a good one.

20. The Colosseum demands it.

That said...

Grave-dancing doesn't bother me. It can be a release for some, it can be contagious...

I'm neither happy nor sad. Not celebrating or bothered by the celebrating. Larger dynamic (several, in fact) at play and that does hold an interest for me..on a personal level (military family) and one that is more than a little detached. Because certain aspects of people, citizens, the collective, national identity, news, propaganda ... and some other things (along those same lines) always get my attention. Primarily as food for thought for my own digesting.
