I have a political prediction for the coming year.
the congressional pukes are going to do everything they can to destroy/weaken the EPA. That will be one of their chief efforts.

Here are a couple more? Issa will be issuing subpoenas like candy at Halloween. Specifically, he'll go after the WH on the supposed bribery of Sestak.

In the Senate, DeMint will flex his muscle big time.

2. Yes, and none of those things will become law.
The President still has the power of the Veto, and the Senate still has a Democratic majority.

It's going to be a difficult couple of years for President Obama. No doubt about that. But, the Republicans aren't in a position to force anything. What we all need to do is to start campaigning tomorrow for Democratic House and Senate candidates for the 2012 election. Tomorrow! We also need to stand behind President Obama in his attempts to keep things from shifting to the right following the lackluster turnout that gave the Republicans the majority in the House.

Our work is cut out for us. Now, let's see if we can pull together and pull off a dramatic 2012. Are you in?

3. Reasonable assumptions
While the President should theoretically veto anything screwing with the EPA, he seems eager to sign anything that Congress puts before him, and if EPA weakening law is part of some grander goal that he has, it will probably pass.

The Sestak bribery is ripe for Issa, even the progressive side hated that.

And I've been saying for the last six months, look out for DeMint. If he wanted to run for the Rethug nomination, even an egotist like Sarah Palin would step aside for him. She might be the fairy godmother for the tea party, but he's their Godfather.
