What will happen to OBL's body?????
Saudi Arabia? Nah .. he'd be made into a martyr there.

we'll need to consult with Islamic officials to determine how his remains will be disposed of.

You'll only hear it on Al Jazeera: http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/

1. They'll make it disappear, so his grave can't become a shrine for his followers.

6. One of the conjectures was
that the body would be cremated and sprinkled out over the ocean, but still,

this question is still hanging in the air internationally,

and however the US Gov.t responds, it will be a BIG FUCKING DEAL.

in the Islamic World at least.

16. I could believe this. It's an age-old practice. Don't let the followers
have a shrine on which to focus their beliefs. Sulla did this with the body of Marius in Rome. And there are rumors that there were remains of Hitler that were incinerated and scattered.

7. Al Jazeera source dissed this probability, saying ..
that the Saudi Family "had disowned OBL years ago", so what
are the other possibilities?

13. If that's the truth, and they won't take the remains of their family member
then we're kinda fucked. Burial at sea?

19. Actually that's what I heard as the most likely possibility
Sorry I can't remember the source, as I trying to track 5-6 at the same time,

Including Al Jazeera http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/ (my fav),

but just to say, "ashes at sea" is a distinct possibility under serious
consideration.

But I'm for giving him a grave with a urinal in place of the tombstone.

14. Okay; what does Islamic law say about dead bodies?
Let's give the corpse to the bin Ladin family, if they want it. Let's try not to piss off Muslims in general. We want them to know that we are not crusaders.

you accept what the warmonger corporations say without hard evidence?

you are just going to take them at their word?

predator drones, they don't even count the bodies anymore, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Libya

THEY DON'T EVEN COUNT THE BODIES ANYMORE.

11. ABC News says burial at sea.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2011/05/osama-bin-laden-body-headed-for-burial-at-sea-officials-say.html

ABC News' Jonathan Karl (@jonkarl) reports: Now that bin Laden has been killed and his body has been positively identified, what is to be done with his remains?

U.S. officials tell me the last thing they want is for his burial place to become a terrorist shrine.

To avoid that, an informed source tells me, the intention is the bury his body at sea -- leaving no definitive location for the final resting place of his body.

A senior administration official tells my colleague Jake Tapper this about the body: "We are ensuring it is handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition. It's something we take seriously and therefore it's being handled in an appropriate manner.‬"

15. Yes. I heard that too.
on Al Jazeera no less: http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/
(lots of fascinating international "responses" to OBL's death)

yet I also heard that the US Govt was making a point of his remains being dealt with
in accordance with Islamic customs.

So my sense is that no one knows for sure, except Obama and a few advisor's.

similar to how the cremated remains of Hitler and Goebbels were thrown in a river by the Soviets to prevent a pilgrimage site from materializing.

26. Word has it that the Saudi Family
has dis-owned OBL for years .. .and they don't even want his body,
because it would likely become a "martyr's grave" which they don't
want.

27. Presumably, Osama will be buried in (I believe) two days
That is in accordance with Islamic rites.

Otherwise, Osama will go meet his maker. If any one hears loud rumblings of thunder this week, you'll know that that is Allah telling him off.
