Boehner got 98 percent of what he wanted and he got blamed for the Tea Party Downgrade, his approval dropped 16 points in three months, Congress' approval dropped to historically low levels and the Republicans are losing the country.

Besides, probably not worth putting too much stock in a one-day drop in the President's rating.

much as I dislike teh deal, it is still too early to say that Boahner indeed got 98% of what he wanted. IMHO it was mostly gloating. But he did get way more than 50%, that's for sure. In the short run.

3. Actually, what I think

he got was the country NOT defaulting, which would have been much, much worse than the AAA to AA+ downgrade. He got it ugly, and it makes most people unhappy. But He is the president, default was not an option.
