Highest in 8 months. That's one of the reasons for the drop in the commodities markets.

2. There were some one-off events in that jobless claims number.
That will largely dissipate by next week. Also, the commodities markets were heavily overbought. That's part of the reason I bought put options on silver first thing Monday morning. Best trade I ever made. 300%+ this week.

5. That's weekly first-time claims for unemployment. Tomorrow's numbers
are for the month of April - number of jobs created, unemployment rate.

3. Most are predicting under 200,000 new jobs...
Which will be spun as a sign of a "slowed down" recovery.

4. the problem is Governors are still laying off Government workers across the country
this is being done on PURPOSE by the rethug Governors to make the President look like he isn't doing anything about jobs. But it won't work because he can be REELECTED even with a bad economy with the capturing and killing of Bin Laden he has achieved a foreign military victory this is according to Allan Lichtman's 13 key's to the White House system.

6. Let's not forget the rise in fuel prices
They're choking the economy as well.
