Poll question: Seth Meyers' bit about ...2008 Barack Obama. You would have loved him...

Seizing on Obama's sinking approval ratings, Meyers added, "I'll tell you who could beat you: 2008 Barack Obama. You would have loved him."

1. I would hope the 2011 Obama would be different than the 2008 Obama.
All Presidents should learn and grow with experience. He was somewhat idealistic, when he was a candidate in 2008, as Myers pointed out.

He's President, now. Older, wiser, grayer. And his campaign will be run from a "Presidential," more serious, angle.

I think back with amusement at the 2008 campaign, when people were always seeming to think he was younger than he was. The GOP painted him as a young, inexperienced whippersnapper...even though he was almost 50 (older than Bill Clinton had been when Clinton had run for President), and had been a state senator for 8 years, as well as a Harvard professor and attorney.

But it was true that he was inexperienced on the national scene. That is no longer true. Now EVERY box is checked.
