Thank You Tamron Hall...
Edited on Fri Feb-11-11 03:03 PM by vaberella
A Ms. Leverett who worked in Cairo on MSNBC. She spent the entire time criticizing Obama on things that were actually conjecture on her part and had to be corrected by Tamron.

She claimed Obama was making calls and Obama was already taking sides. Then Tamron had to point on each time she claimed the Admin was doing one thing or another by stating the actuality and the fact there her states are not facts but her own projections on what the Admin might do.

It was interesting to see.

As an aside I do agree with the woman that we shouldn't take sides and we should step back. But her claim that we took a stand is false. Both the left and the right were screaming that Obama needs to take a stand. In a round about way he supported the citizens more so than the leadership in place. That being said Obama made his decision and in my opinion did the right thing. Stay on the fence, politics and politiking is a nightmare and it has to be done with a bit of apprehension.

I'm glad for Egypt...now I hope they don't face the same problems Haiti has faced every time it's had a Coup D'etat---which is like...for almost every President. We had no vision of the future and we had people intentionally trying to destroy our call for democracy. I hope Egypt doesn't get that.

1. Tamron Hall said that "some people" in Egypt were negative about Mohamed ElBaradei
I wish she named the faction who thinks this way.

What I didn't like about the segment was that Hall didn't exactly back up her assertions. Leverett at least worked at the embassy.

2. Well she did in regards to the defense of Obama, she stated the speeches and talks.
In regards to the details of certain things I agree with you. Leverett also seemed to have a biased opinion on how things were going to be done and presumed to know what Obama was going to do and his intentions based on false information which Hall expanded on and clarified which Leverett conceded too.

3. I heard Leverett just keep saying that we need to "step back"...
Regarding who we should back or not in Egypt. Her criticisms were pretty much based on the continuation of past U.S. policy of supporting the dictator.

I think we can all hope that we wouldn't back another dictator. *Another inheritance deal that Obama can hopefully turn around*. I have no idea if he tried to turn our policy around these past two years. But I believe Leverett is in a better position than Tamron Hall, you or I to know what's been going on. So I'm keeping her thoughts in mind in the months ahead.

This situation is as delicate as it gets. That's a point we all know from following events over many years.

Take care! :hi:
