Ed(big headed)Schultz: People will have to sacrifice a little more so we can get a better deal
So Ed who is fat and happy and working everyday want people who's unemployment has ran out with no money for food or there next rent payment to follow his logic so they can score political points on the rethugs . Hears my PREDICTION mark my word on what will happen the democrats will try and get things in the tax cut deal the President made with the rethugs and end up getting nothing the blue dogs and rethugs will say NO because the rethugs know in three weeks there taking over Congress anyway so there going to get the things in this bill they want and the things the President got will not be in the rethugs bill in 2011 resulting in the democrats getting the blame for everybody's taxes going up and no extension of unemployment benefits. YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST Anyone agree with me

12. Yeah, he told them to stay home in the midterms.., How's that working out????
I long for the day when we were given real news and not the rantings and ravings of those who keep the controversy going for their ratings....

Pundits. cable news and talk radio are going to be the downfall of the US in light of the fact that people are too damn lazy to read anymore!

can provide any reliable substantiation that Ed Schultz urged us to "stay home in the midterms".

40. HE did say it.
And I'm announcing today, I'm not going to vote in the midterms. I'm not going to do it. You can say it's un-American. No, it's rather revolutionary is what it is. I'm at that point. I'm checking out.

I'm checking out of the Democrats because they are proving to me that they don't know how to handle these big babies over on the right that say no. You know what you do? You get in the driver's seat, you hit the throttle, and you run over them.

19. You go right ahead and bash one of the few voices we have
It may be along time before we get another one. He spends many hours every day talking to anybody
who will listen trying to get our side a chance. He's one of the very few who do. If you think we can
do without that voice you have to be delusional.

That's why we can never win. We're too afraid to rant loudly. Don't want to be too loud people may
not like us anymore.

29. the fact that no one realizes they are all dancing monkeys is starting to bug me
How different from the "other side" are the favorites on the favorite station? They are both expressing viewpoints that make everyone nod in unison. But they are no better than the dancing monkeys. This is the circus part of "Bread and Circuses". Just sit down on your favorite side of the aisle and cheer for your favorite, and boo the others when they roll up in the clown car.

32. I first thought that if this deal got us DADT, Dream and START,
then it was a just trade off. Now I can see I was fooling myself.

I believe the current insurrection is the boldest, fiercest fighting that I've seen from Democrats in a very loing time.

More blood has pumped through the heart of this party in the last 2 days then it had in the last two years!!!!

I feel that sacrifice and injury is destined given the economy, but we can make it worth while with a victory in this fight.

11. I agree 100%. The idiots in congress have succeeded in screwing the american people over today
Nothing is going to get done in the lame duck and once "Boner" is in charge, we will get NOTHING and the unemployed will be scrounging around or going to soup kitchens to feed their families.

Ignorant. Disgusting!

Where was this "fire" before the midterms??? They are a bunch of chicken shit assholes.

I give Obama credit. He knew this was going to happen, he knew he was going to take all sorts of grief yet he did what he thought was right for the downtrodden.

Some are so blinded by ideology that they want to shoot themselves in the foot.

I done...

Obama crafted something that could get past the filibuster in the Senate and buy him some goodwill with the Repubs to get a couple of other bills passed too.

17. Who the fuck are you to tell people they need to sacrifice, Ed?
When the BUsh tax cuts were passed about 80 percent of it went ot the rich. Now it's exactly the opposite with about 80 percent going to the middle class. It's not a terrible deal, unless you have such disdain for wealthy people that you'd rather make the middle-class, poor and unemployed suffer than give them anything.

now when passing them in the first instance primarily benefitted the wealthy?

41. Here's how . . .
1. Not extending them means taxes go UP and people's paychecks go DOWN,

2. The unemployed (mostly middle-class) don't get extended benefits, This bill provdes them with 13 months more unemployment benefits

3. The middle class now get a payroll tax cut of 2% for the entire year (someone making $40,000 will get about $1,400 tax cut just for this portion of the bill)

4. Child tax credits are extended for another year

5. Low-income people who don't make enough to pay taxes, will get a check as part of the Earned Income Tax Credit portion of the bill.

Here's a chart that shows what Dems get from this bill compared to Republicans get. It's pretty lopsided in our favor -- we got double what they got.

18. The TRUE "Professional Left" have plenty of money to sit back and egg on a political fight
Didja hear that, you UI benefits recipients? It's more important to let a political fight be waged than allowing you to get your UI check. So says a comfortably paid "Professional Left" pundit.

And I'm sure that Ed will have plenty of materials for his shows while that showdown takes place.

Is that really the way you see it?

Do you really believe that is the attitude of Congressional Democrats?

I watch Ed regularly and he has been consistent in advocating for the unemployed. He is about the ONLY political commentator supporting the plight of the "99ers".

What will make it past a Republican Senate filibuster threat before UI benefits expire?

28. Realistically, how big a "poison pill" would the Republicans have to include in their "package"
abefore you would say that it was too high a price to pay, even for unemployment benefits?

Where is it written that we HAVE to accept long-term damage to our economy---which will, as always, primarily affect the poor and middle class---in order to provide relief to the unemployed?

Why aren't we mad at the Republicans, who have no principles, instead of the Democrats who are standing up for theirs?

37. Funny you should ask. So many people are open about voting for anyone but Obama in a primary
Is it THEM you should be asking about directing anger at the Republicans? I already KNOW where the blame truly lies.

And right NOW, the bottom line is that the clock is ticking for some people, regardless of how we got here.

But the main focus on this board is excoriating the President more than anyone else, for all that woulda/shoulda/coulda happened.

FULL paycheck, Ed, right up until those tax cuts for the rich are permanently eliminated. Can you do that, Ed? Can you? Let's see you SACRIFICE, buddy. You can do it! Dig DEEP, Ed!
