they'd ALL support the repeal of DADT:

Poll: 72 percent favor allowing openly gay or lesbian people to serve

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2010/pollcenter/individual/index.html#1939

AND ratification of START:

Almost 3/4 of nation believes Senate should ratify nuclear treaty with Russia

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2010/pollcenter/individual/index.html#1941

I wish someone in the media would challenge Repubs. when they say they're against the repeal of DADT and ratifying the START treaty while saying they will listen to the American people.

2. +1000
They don't seem to care about "the American people". They just use that phrase whenever they're trying to convince the public to give them (or let them do) whatever it is they (and their benefactors and supporters) want.

are telling the truth. nt

8. Yes, unfortunately they do
We're just not as good at "catapulting the propaganda" as they seem to be. I wonder what we can do about this.

How can you say that? Aren't you aware only those who are in the same frame of mind are "the American people"? Everyone else are "them"......Got that straight now?

I'm sure I don't really need this, but, just in case......:sarcasm:

they're constantly telling news anchors what "the American people want" which is ALWAYS, coincidentally, what THEY want. And nobody seems to ever challenge them, but just takes it as fact. They need to be told what the American people REALLY want, and see their reaction.

As I'm typing this, I recall one Repub. saying the American people don't want to get rid of DADT, and when the anchor DID challenge him by saying an overwhelming majority of people DO want to get rid of it according to the latest polls, he replied that poll questions can be asked in such a way that the pollster will get the results they WANT, totally dismissing the polls. :eyes:

6. Well, I wish more people in the media would point out how they are obviously NOT
listening to the VAST majority of people when they say they'll vote against repealing DADT and not ratifying START.
