For those who watched Hardball tonight...
who was the guy in the studio advocating for the repeal of DADT? He gave out misinformation, claiming that Harry Reid introduced the legislation today so it could FAIL. He claimed he had "implicit or explicit" guarantees that they HAD the 60 votes, but Harry Reid wouldn't allow amendments so it failed.

That is wrong. He DID allow amendments and they STILL voted "no." The guest named the Dems. who voted "no" as well as a couple Repubs. who said they would've voted for it if it weren't for the way Reid did it.

3. Reid has the votes to kill any and every amendment they could offer. He deserves some blame.
He cares more about allowing his fellow senators to go home and campaign than he cares about doing his job. So what if the Republicans want a lot of amendments? Vote them all down until they stop offering them.

Grow a spine Harry and do your damn job!

4. He DID allow amendments. He does NOT deserve some blame.
Take it up with Rachel Maddow who showed video of Reid saying he WILL allow amendments. My question is who was the guest on Hardball tonight who said otherwise.

10. Were you watching the C-Span and the voting?! Don't spout crap.
Reid definitely allowed amendments---shit the allowance of amendments was explicitly written in the language of the bill. Levin said so. Don't come here and spread more crap man. You're as bad as the MSM...especially when you didn't even do your homework.

5. And Matthews did nothing to correct him.
I believe that the repugs were given a chance to offer amendments but refused to do so.

It must be really pathetic to be a gay republican trying to explain why your party has just slapped you in the face and your job is to try to blame Harry Reid. What kind of insults will it take for gay repugs to see that they are not wanted in the big tent.

9. It was all bullshit - Reid said he would allow amendments after the bill came to the floor.
The bill never came to the floor.

Tweety was once again clueless.

blaming Reid), then saw Rachel who presented the accurate situation (as always).

14. Replacing Boehner the Republican general in 2010
Justin Coussoule Democrat

Justin Coussoule is running against John Boehner for the 8th district House seat in Ohio.

Please go to Justin's site and contribute what you can for his campaign to replace this insensitive golf playing let them eat
cake RepugnaNoUCan't NAY Sayer.

It is time this Republican General is retired.

What will it take to get the President and the rest of the Democratic hierarchy to acknowledge with 'spoken word' that the people of the Ohio 8th District need to defeat the general of the House Republicans and that Justin Coussoule is the Democratic candidate who will do just that. Step up and actually speak his name on the News and in the media pundit's moments.

15. Reid DID offer the GOP a chance to add any ammendments they desired, and
Mitch McConnell told him "NO" - that thing about it being Reid's fault is a GOP LIE!!!

The Republicans hate gays, hate Obama, hate Democrats, hate America, and hate the truth - it's that simple.

16. Exactly, which is why I'm trying to find the guy's name who was advocating for
the repeal of DADT and LYING about Reid. I only knew he was lying because Rachel Maddow was on MSNBC right after the bill was filibustered, and she told us the facts.

18. I found the transcript for last night's show. The liar was Alex Nicholson:
First question, the big one: Why did it (the bill w/the DADT repeal amendment) go down?

ALEX NICHOLSON, SERVICEMEMBERS UNITED: It went down because Senator Reid essentially made it unpalatable for Republicans. We had the votes lined up, Susan Collins—

MATTHEWS: What was the poison pill?

NICHOLSON: I think the poison pill was not allowing Republican—any Republican amendments on it.

MATTHEWS: Why didn‘t he want any amendments?

NICHOLSON: Well, he says it‘s because, I believe, he doesn‘t want Republicans screwing with some of the other provisions in the DAA. We think, however, that Senator Reid was under a lot of pressure to bring this bill up. He brought the bill up, but he brought it up so that it would fail and Republicans would be able to be blamed.

19. Tweety is a perpetual embarrassment for his laziness in not
informing himself on any topic he intends to discuss on his show. Time and time again he lets guests get away with outright lies (like the case in point) because he is too inept or too lazy to make the slightest effort to inform himself beforehand. His whole contribution seems to be in over talking whoever is speaking and praising himself for his masterful knowledge of all things political based on having been in the White House when Grover Cleveland was President or trying to reduce it all to "Philly politics". His show is a colossal waste of time - it should be given to Cenk.

20. The bill failed to pass. Reid is leader.
Democrats always make theater about supporting equality, but in the end they have tricks and Webbs to spin. Every time. Bait and switch, Lucy and the football.
This is probably the first time you have seen this sort of thing. For many of us, it is predictable, repetitive, lack of leadership.
Harry and the President both hold religious dogmas that teach bigotry toward gay people. They say one thing, then serve their superstitions. Harry gets to rule a planet in the afterlife, you know.

22. Feel free to believe what you want about the Dems. including Obama...
it doesn't make you right. If you think Obama is bigoted towards gay people, you're obviously not judging him on the facts. He is AGAINST DADT, DOMA, and other bigoted practices, some of which he already got changed.
