Can we go back to fight against the real enemy?
Like, Republicans, Fox, this sort of assholes? Or are we going to continue kick Obama in the nuts for something that was not his fault?

2. Some folks seem to have forgotten who the real enemy is.

3. Well, for a lot of folks, Obama IS the enemy. But we on DU certainly
know better and need to set our sites elsewhere. Frenchie has a great idea about needing to start some action against Breitbart and Faux News. We need to start brainstorming.

6. Unfortunately, Faux News doesn't give a darn about us...
boycotting (which we already do). They don't have to fear the government because they know the FCC can't touch them, Murdoch has money out of the whazzoo, and they have a very loyal following. Other than get pissed off, what else can we do?

10. That's why we need to brainstorm. An email campaign maybe.
Or a FB page regarding this subject. Something of that sort.

4. I don't consider Obama my enemy, despite all the reasons he's given me for disappointment.
But Tom VilSuck made himself my enemy in January 2004. Fuck that rancid piece of shit.

5. And can we discuss the climate bill, immigration reform, unemployment insurance, the midterms, the
oil spill, the financial reform that passed today?

11. This from the same crowd that viciously attacks Hamsher, Feingold, Krugman,
Kucinich, Dean and any other liberal who dares voice an opinion that isn't 100% in lockstep with the White House.

Lead by example. Stop making enemies of the base over policy disagreements. Then maybe you'll have a leg to stand on when you expect compassion and forgiveness for the administration's bad judgment.

13. This instance is not about policy disagreements. I personally love
Krugman and Dean but don't agree with them all the time, nor do I agree with Obama all the time. But in this instance, we have a real enemy and it is not Obama. It is the Right Wing.

12. But, but, but....
The real enemy is us! Cause that's who we've been fighting,
unfortunately!

14. Rec'd. Republicans are the ones trying to benefit from all of this.
In fact, they (Fox) started it.

16. Why Don't You Direct That Plea To The President?

He's the one who needs to take your advice. And yes, he bears some responsibility for the whole, jaw-dropping Sherrod debacle.

17. Twice in one year we have witnessed the signature tactic of the RW, orchestrated by Murdoch's empire
Rachel is right: Who will be next?

As much as I love Obama, he is not always right, and I fear that this time Keith is absolutely correct: he has spent too much time being above the fray. But how can Obama fight when he is being attacked by both the RW and the Left? Obama is not the enemy.

Dammit, people! Get your heads on straight! This is a freaking war against the American people and American democracy, and it is being waged by our REAL enemies. They didn't go away just because Obama got elected.

Brainstorm! We used to be good at that around here! What should WE be doing?

Hekate

18. Wake me up when the administration decides it wants to fight "the real enemy"
Krugman's take on this is pretty much says what I've been saying on this site and elsewhere for years (actually for decades):

What’s shocking here isn’t the behavior of the right, which was par for the course. It’s the seemingly limitless credulity of the inside-the-Beltway crowd. I mean, there’s a history here: ACORN, Climategate, Vince Foster, Whitewater, and much much more. (Someone recently reminded me that the GOP held two weeks of hearing on the Clinton Christmas card list.) When the right-wing noise machine starts promoting another alleged scandal, you shouldn’t suspect that it’s fake — you should presume that it’s fake, until further evidence becomes available.

So now Tom Vilsack, the Agriculture secretary, says that he may “reconsider”. I’d lay even odds that the Sherrod firing stands, even though it was totally unjust, because people in DC are so accustomed to cringing in the face of the right that they just don’t know how to stop.
