Are they kidding me?
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/12/us/politics/12governors.html?_r=1&hp

BOSTON — In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections.

While the weak economy dominated the official agenda at the summer meeting here of the National Governors Association, concern over immigration policy pervaded the closed-door session between Democratic governors and White House officials and simmered throughout the three-day event.

At the Democrats’ meeting on Saturday, some governors bemoaned the timing of the Justice Department lawsuit, according to two governors who spoke anonymously because the discussion was private.

So when should we tackle immigration?

2. Whatever happens, the president will take the blame. It's not easy
being the leader of the free world, and the leader of a psycho party bent on destroying itself from within. He has to try and make decisions that are good for the country, but won't place his majority in danger. That's gotta suck.

4. The corporate whores do not want any real immigration reform
They don't want anything that might target those that employ illegals and that is why they are OK if not happy with what Arizona did.

Face it, the Arizona law will do nothing to curb the practice of hiring illegals and pushes all the blame and consequence on the individual thereby protecting the corporations who are really in charge of our government in the first place.

and they fear voter backlash if they support the President on this issue. Cowards.

6. If the admin goes along with the political pressure, it's just a practicality. Nothing more nothing
less.

Practical, practicality, pragmatic, pragmatical, pragmatism, pragmatality! I love the P words.

pppppppfffffffftttttttt.

You will soon see these words written on DU, but unlike me, the person writing them, means it.

8. No way the administration changes its position on this issue..
They have already filed the lawsuit. This appears to be political cover for the Governors.

10. We can tackle immigration any time other than the two years before elections
and the two years after the elections. Other than that we can deal with it anytime.

11. I expect demands that the governor's LEAD on this issue

Explain to their constituents that the law is just plain unconstitutional and that the AZ legislature and governor were too ignorant to look into that first.
