Media collectively start a "Day" clock on Oil Spill Disaster,
Edited on Tue Jun-01-10 11:56 AM by FrenchieCat
Like they did for Iran Hostage Crisis....
(wonder why?)

Keeping in mind that they already know this may very well take months,
and although the tracking of time by days was never done for......

Days till the Exxon Valdez mess was cleaned up,

or

Days since we were hit by 9/11 and Osama Bin Laden hasn't been captured,

or

Days since Katrina hit, and NO is not rebuilt,

or

Days since Mission accomplished was declared on Iraq,
(notable exclusion on this one is KO)

or

Days since Financial Market Meltdown and taxpayers are still owed money,

or

Days since Cheney met with energy companies in secret meeting and refused to provide the information about it to the public,

or

days since Republicans took on the mantra "Drill, Baby, Drill" to day of oil spill.

Corporate media wants their tax cuts to remain,
and they will do whatever is necessary: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x321933

My letter to the media on this....

I notice that the collective media now has a day calendar on “Days since Oil Spill”. I just wanted to ask, where was the day calendar on “Days since 9/11 without Bin Laden Captured”? What about Days since Pres. Bush claimed Mission Accomplished on the War in Iraq? You see, what the media is doing is obvious and disgusting. This oil spill, like 9/11 is a national tragedy, and the fact that we already know that this spill may take months to stop, and that no one but BP has the technology to stop it, your Day Clock is nothing more than a cynical political play on the Iran Hostage crisis that brought down Jimmy Carter’s presidency (and was resolved due to behind the scene shenadigans by Carter’s opponents). Perhaps the media should do "Gallons of oil spilled in the Gulf since platform went down killing 11!"

Personally, I’m tired of the media manipulation, and the media should be ashamed of how it has so forcefully participated in dividing Americans through divisive callousness, instead of uniting us to a common cause.

1. Well, they can bet on waiting two more months. I think the relief well
is about all that will stop this. And even then, it must be precise.

2. I'm trying to figure out what the real point is in keeping a calendar
on something that is already known will take many days--

Never mind; I do know.

13. Maybe Phil Griffin got tired of hearing all the complaints
about his anchors manipulating and manufacturing.

If you can't find his email I don't know who can.
